Terms and Conditions

Tickets are sold by Leeds Grand Theatre & Opera House Ltd, Company Registration Number 00978161, Charity Registration Number 500408, 46 New Briggate, Leeds, LS1 6NZ, on behalf of producers, promoters and event organisers, as well as for our in-house productions.

Conditions of Sale for all booking channels

Returning your tickets
If you are unable to use your tickets we offer an exchange or credit service. Tickets can be exchanged for another performance of the same production or for a credit voucher valid for six months. In order to take advantage of this service your original tickets are required to be received by us at least a week before the performance (14 days for group bookings of 20 or more). Any decisions after a week before the performance will be at the discretion of the management and the original tickets must be received before any credit will be issued.

Tickets purchased as part of a subscription or multi-buy package where discounts have been generated cannot be exchanged for credit vouchers or performances outside the original qualifying package.

Refunds
Tickets will not be refunded unless a performance is cancelled or abandoned when less than half the performance has taken place. If a performance is cancelled we will make every effort to accommodate you at another time or offer a refund. 

Named Artists
Management cannot guarantee the appearance of any named artist.

Adaptations
Due to the nature of live theatre stage adaptations may differ from film or literary versions of the same title.

Front Row of Stalls
Due to the nature of live theatre the front row of the stalls may be subject to change even after tickets go on sale. We regret we are unable to inform patrons who have purchased tickets of any such change.

Agency Tickets
Agents' tickets are accepted on the understanding that the agent is acting for the customer and not for Leeds Grand Theatre & Opera House Ltd. The above statements regarding returned tickets do not apply to tickets issued by agencies.

Refreshments
It is not permitted to bring your own refreshments including alcohol into the theatre and the management reserves the right to dispose of any items not purchased in the theatre.

Security Checks
For the safety and comfort of all customers, bags larger than a handbag will not be permitted in the auditorium.
Any larger bags will have to be checked and placed in the cloakroom*
Leeds Grand Theatre reserve the right to carry out random bag checks where necessary

*Please note, there is a £1 charge to leave items in the cloakroom


Children
Children under  3 will not be admitted unless the performance is specifically for young children.
Tickets are required for each child attending a performance. Parents are reminded that some performances are not suitable for young children. We do not advise that children under 14 attend the theatre without a responsible adult and venue staff accept no responsibility for any unaccompanied children under 18.
If your child is causing a disturbance to other customers, you will be asked to remove them from the auditorium and no refunds will be given.

Age guidance is to assist individuals in judging the suitability of production at the time of booking, however, Leeds Grand Theatre accepts no responsibility for any offence which may be caused.  Age guidance may relate to themes of an adult nature, language, nudity or themes considered unsuitable for younger audiences.

Booking charges
Bookings are subject to transaction/booking fees depending on production see individual show pages for details. At the Grand Theatre, £1 from every ticket sold goes towards the Restoration Fund for the continued improvement of the Grand Theatre. At City Varieties, 60p from each ticket goes towards the preservation of this Grade II* listed building.

Telephone charges
Calls to box office cost 7p per minute plus your phone company's access charge.

Concessions and Discounts
We offer concessions and discounts for some performances. Only one concession or discount can be applied per ticket. Concessions/discounts do not apply to premium tickets or Restricted View seats. Child ticket refers to under 16. Students should be in possession of a valid student ID or NUS card. We reserve the right to check proof of eligibility at any point and entry will be refused if you are found to have purchased a concession you are not entitled to.

Schools concessions are to enable educational establishments to bring groups of pupils or students to see performances at a reduced rate. They are not transferable to adults and cannot be used by groups of staff (Group rate seats are available for groups of 10 or more). The additional ticket for school groups is for an accompanying adult who should be responsible for the behaviour of the children in the party.

Ticket Prices
Pricing may be subject to change – tickets will be sold at the current Box Office rate at the time of booking.

Delivery
You may have your tickets posted to you for a £1 charge. If within 5 days of the performance, your tickets will be held care of the Box Office. These tickets can be collected on presentation of the Debit/Credit Card used to make your booking and your booking confirmation if you have booked online.

If booking online, you may also choose to print@home. There is no charge for this service but you must bring your printed ticket with you to gain entrance.

Arriving late
If you arrive late for the start of a performance or after an interval we appreciate that you will want to take your seat as soon as possible. We will do everything possible to assist. To limit disturbance to fellow audience members and artists we may have to ask you to wait until a suitable break in the performance. Occasionally this may not be possible once the performance has started.

Conditions of entry
Our staff are here to enhance your experience and to ensure your safety at all times. Please follow any guidance they give in relation to your and others comfort and safety.

No member of the audience will be permitted to sit in any gangway which intersects or flanks the seating.

The taking of photographs, capturing of images or the use of any recording devices including mobile phones during any performance is strictly prohibited.

On occasion either the venue or a permitted third party may carry out general filming and sound recording in or about the venue.  By purchasing tickets you consent to you and your party being included in and to the exploitation of such films and recordings without payment.

The Management of Leeds Grand Theatre and Opera House Ltd reserve the right to:

•    refuse admission to the premises and any of its venues
•    request any ticket holder to leave the venue, and take appropriate action to enforce this right
•    change the advertised arrangements of any performance in the event of illness or any cause beyond our control. This includes non-appearance of any named artist.
